This training manual is used to train partner agency staff and SMP program volunteers. The training includes information on Medicare Basics, as well as information about the SMP program and fraud, waste, and abuse. The manual materials are printed and organized in a binder with 3 sections - one for training materials, one for consumer materials, and one for reporting. The binder also includes a pre- and post-test and an evaluation form, the results of which are tracked and utilized to improve the training structure and materials. Training materials include 2 Powerpoint presentations (on Medicare Basics and SMP/fraud), Illinois SHIP program reference sheets, Medicare Summary Notice handouts, a HAP reference sheet on what insurance plans can and cannot do, a "What to Report for SMP" list, and tips on giving presentations. The consumer materials section includes a Powerpoint presentation, a health care fraud tip sheet, information on the Do-Not-Call List, Protect Your Medicare BINGO, and
