SMP Listserv
The U.S. Administration on Aging's (AoA) SMP listserv is a
communication tool intended for people directly involved in SMP work.
Members share news, information and questions about health
care fraud, consumer scams affecting older adults, outreach
strategies, coverage of SMP work by the media and more. The listserv is
also a venue used by AoA and the SMP Resource Center to make
announcements about policies, training events, SMART FACTS
reporting, national level news related to SMP work and other
pertinent issues that may be of interest to the national SMP
network. The Sentinel, produced by The
Center, is also distributed via the listserv.
To Send a Message to the Listserv
Only enrolled members can successfully send messages.
- Send your e-mail to: AOAORT-L@LIST.NIH.GOV.
- You will receive a confirmation e-mail asking
you to click on a link.
- After clicking the link, the e-mail will be
sent to all listserv members.
To Join the Listserv
AoA project officers and SMP project directors are automatically
added to the listserv by Barbara Lewis at AoA. Requests for additional
members must be made directly to Barbara Lewis by the SMP project
director. SMP project directors may request that additional staff,
volunteers or SMP partners be added to the
SMP listserv by e-mailing Barbara Lewis at Barbara.Lewis@aoa.hhs.gov.
Note: The list is an important tool for SMP grantees, partners and
subgrantees. Information may be forwarded to others but the list
cannot support a high volume of addresses. The listserv notifies AoA
when an e-mail address is undeliverable after three
attempts. At that point that address is deleted from the
list. To avoid erroneous deletions, ensure your mail box is not
near capacity and promptly report changes for you or your partners.
