Welcome to the post-conference website for the 2009 National SMP Conference! This conference was sponsored by The National Consumer Protection Technical Resource Center, Center for Services & Information for SMPs, and was intended for SMP project directors, staff, volunteers and U.S. Administration on Aging (AoA) project officers. The conference took place at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., Aug. 18-20 with the theme of Embracing Excellence.

As in the past, the purpose of the 2009 National SMP conference was to assist, support, inform and honor the 54 SMPs nationwide. After 12 years of experience as a national network empowering seniors to prevent health care fraud, waste and abuse, there was much to celebrate. The conference offered an opportunity to review the core values and practices that define the SMP program while also honoring the creativity that provides local and regional flavor to each project.
