SMP Counselor Training

SMP Counselor Training has been developed to provide SMPs with the necessary skills and resources to handle one-on-one counseling sessions and simple inquiries consistently across the country. Click the links below to access the SMP Counselor Training Manual and classroom training materials.

 Training  Description
SMP Counselor Training Manual The SMP Counselor Training Manual provides information and resources to prepare SMP staff and volunteers to handle one-on-one counseling sessions and simple inquiries consistently across the country. SMPs are encouraged to provide the manual to participants in advance of the training to preview the content and make the most of the time spent in the classroom.
SMP Counselor Classroom Training Materials SMP Counselor Classroom Training promotes an interactive experience for participants and includes a PowerPoint presentation, trainer’s notes, classroom activities, and answer keys.
