Risk Management

The purpose of risk management in the SMP program is to operate a safe and healthy work environment for the program’s volunteers and staff, and to deliver safe and reliable services for its beneficiaries. The safety of SMP personnel is paramount. SMP staff manages risks through appropriate screening and placement of volunteers, orientation and training, and ongoing supervision and support. The Coordinator of Volunteers is required to conduct an annual risk assessment of the roles, work and activities of SMP volunteers.
