SMP Foundations Training Online provides a foundation of knowledge in three main content areas: the SMP program, Medicare basics, and Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse. Participants should allow approximately five hours to complete the entire online course: Chapters 1-4. See the Online Training Instructions for more information.

Tips

  • Before you start the training, please make sure that your computer speakers are turned on and the volume is turned up, so that you can hear the audio portion of the training.
  • Your SMP may provide you with a printed copy of the SMP Foundations Training Manual. If you would like an electronic copy of the manual, click here.

  • The SMP Foundations Training assessment is designed to assess your knowledge of the SMP program, Medicare basics, and Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse.
  • Please contact your SMP program staff to determine whether or not you will be required to take this assessment after you complete the online training.
  • To take the SMP Foundations Training Assessment online, click here.

Tips

  • Please do not start the assessment until you are ready to take the entire assessment all the way through to the end. If you close your browser or turn off your computer before you complete the assessment, you will need to start over from the beginning.
  • For information about your assessment results, please contact your SMP program staff.
