Pain Management Physician Sentenced

A pain management doctor was sentenced to eight years in prison and three years of supervised release. He must pay restitution of more than $8.7 million. He pleaded guilty to 27 counts of health care fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud, and 16 counts of money laundering. He falsely stated that he had seen patients for 25 minutes or longer when he often saw them for less than five minutes. To read a Department of Justice press release, click here
