Fraud Alert for People with Diabetes

Criminals who plot to defraud the government and steal money from the American people have a new target: people with diabetes. This article, from the Office of Inspector General, describes a scheme in which a caller pretends to be from the government, a diabetes association, or even Medicare and offers "free" diabetic or other supplies in exchange for Medicare or financial information. Items may also come in the mail. The items are billed to Medicare and you’re susceptible to other scams. SMPs help the public report such schemes to the Office of Inspector General.
