Evidence presented during trial showed that the defendants delivered less-expensive powered scooters to customers than they billed, resulting in larger payment. It also showed that the powered wheelchairs the defendants billed for were neither medically necessary nor prescribed by any physician. One defendant was recently sentenced to 324 months in federal prison. Another defendant was sentenced to 87 months in November.
