Man Sentenced for Health Care Fraud Scheme

Miguel De Paula Arias was sentenced to 161 months in prison. According to the indictment, he stole the identities of six retired and semiretired senior citizen physicians and used their Medicare accounts to submit claims for services provided to patients. The doctors received bills from the Internal Revenue Service for unpaid taxes and from Medicare for repayment of apparently fraudulent claims. To read a news story, click here.
