Government Intervenes in Eye Doctor Case

The lawsuit alleges that the defendants submitted false claims to Medicare for surgical procedures, diagnostic tests, and office visits that were medically unnecessary, of worthless value, upcoded, and in some cases, not provided at all. In many cases, cataract surgery was performed despite the fact that patients had little to no vision complaints and normal visual acuity. Read a Department of Justice press release.
