Woman Pleads Guilty to Medicare Kickback Scheme

A woman pleaded guilty to conspiring to pay and receive illegal kickbacks in exchange for Medicare beneficiary referrals and to soliciting kickbacks in exchange for Medicare beneficiary referrals. According to court documents, she worked as the social services director at a skilled nursing and assisted living facility and used her position to steer Medicare beneficiaries to certain home health agencies and a hospice agency following their discharge.
