Fadel Alshalabi, the owner and chief executive officer of Crestar Labs LLC, has been charged with aiding and abetting as well as violation of the Anti-Kickback Statute for his role in orchestrating a fraudulent Medicare billing scheme relating to genetic testing in cancer patients. The Justice Department said the tests were approved by telemedicine doctors who did not engage in the treatment of the patients and often did not even speak with the patients for whom they ordered tests. Often, the patients or their treating physicians never received the results of the tests. Read a story from The Daily Herald  and a Department of Justice press release.
