Providers Charged in Over $20 Million Scheme

An indictment charged two acupuncturists, six physical therapists, and a cashier with operating an over $20 million health care fraud scheme at fraudulent medical offices. They allegedly created false medical documentation, paid kickbacks to patients, and billed Medicare and insurance providers for physical therapy and acupuncture services that were unnecessary or never performed.
