Jessica Jones and Elizabeth Putulin were each sentenced to three years of supervised release. Jones must pay $8.6 million in restitution and Putulin must pay $20.7 million. They each pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud. They conspired with Juan Camilo Perez Buitrago to submit more than $107.6 million in false and fraudulent claims for durable medical equipment (DME) such as arm, back, knee, and shoulder braces. Their involvement included answering frequent phone calls from Medicare patients who received DME that they did not request, want, or need. Read a Department of Justice press release.
